Urgent! Recall of Fisher Price Infant Rocker

Today there was a recall of Fisher Price's Rock-N-Play. They have reported over 32 infant deaths from babies rolling over and suffocating. These beds were designed to be used with newborns who don't move much, but parents are using them with more mobile babies who are squirming into the fabric and suffocating.

Recently, I was doing some postpartum work and heard the baby grunting. I went over and the baby had rolled sideways and could not breathe because its face was pressed against the fabric. I quickly picked the baby up and the baby's color went back to normal. I am glad that I was in the room for that moment or it could have possibly been a sad story.

Please stop using this Rock-N-Play and tell your friends to stop as well. According to the recall, consumers "should immediately stop using the product and contact Fisher-Price for a refund or voucher." For more information, contact Fisher-Price online at www.service.mattel.com and click on “Recalls & Safety Alerts” or call 866-812-6518 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday.
