Hello! I’m Anita! As a native to Nashville, TN I recognized long ago that my deep love and passion for women, motherhood, and children would guide me on a path of serving women. I started my doula career at the tender age of 10 volunteering with different mothers at my church home and community. After the attendance of my first birth while in high school, I decided to set sail on my journey to support, educate, encourage, and empower pregnant, laboring, and postpartum women during such a transformative time. Driven by my love of serving others, in 2008 I became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and fervently pursued a nursing degree, later obtaining a Bachelor’s of Science degree in nursing in 2011.
As a college student, I worked as a nanny and overnight baby nurse. My goal is to use my skills to help new mamas uncover, discover, and embrace their own beauty and power in their transition into motherhood. I am a trained postpartum nurse, and soon to be certified birth and postpartum doula. My training has given me skills to work with rebozos, newborn care, baby wearing, belly binding, massage therapy, aromatherapy, breastfeeding, and essential oil use during pregnancy and birth. I am also certified with the American Heart Association in adult, child, and infant CPR.
As a birth and postpartum doula, it is my hope that every woman is provided the physical, emotional, and spiritual support as they unveil the strength they possess. I believe that each and every birth and baby is a unique experience and, while on this journey, ALL women deserve to be nurtured, respected, loved, and
supported as they progress down this sacred journey.
I have experience with:
